Meeting Medics

Year 5 and 6 had the chance to chat to medical students.

We found out all about the different jobs in the NHS.

We learnt about nerve impulses and how your brain reacts to pain.

Then we got the chance to use a stethoscope and listen to each other’s hearts.

We felt our pulses.

We got to be detectives and looked at X Rays to work out what was wrong with a patient.

We found out about the different bones in the human leg and arm. Then we found out about the largest and the smallest bone and muscle in the human body.

Finally we got to ask the students about why they decided to go into medicine.
