On Monday afternoon, a team of year 3 and 4 HJS pupils took part in a netball development tournament at the SHINE community sports hall at St Ursula's school. The team, which was made up of both experienced netballers and those new to the game, showed great enthusiasm and sportspersonship throughout their 4 matches. Both Westbury Park School and Horfield proved to be skilful and determined opposition, and the games were closely contested. Overall, HJS won two and lost two. Breaks between the matches gave all the teams the chance to work on their skills and learn more about the rules and tactics of netball, and they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
A special mention should go to Michael Thorp, who won a special SHINE award for his tireless efforts for his team.
