Key messages from the Year 6 Team from the 5th week of term

We are editing and publishing our Snowman diary entries in English this week and are looking at plurals in spelling. In maths, we are multiplying and dividing fractions. Advanced warning - we will be testing times tables in the last week of term so brush up on those rusty ones!

Christmas preparation begins in earnest next week. Children all have lyrics to learn as well as a Shakespeare poem to memorise (being given out next week) some also have a John Betjeman poem and/or Musical Theatre and show Choir performances - phew!

In the last week of term, Year 6 will be sewing Christmas tree ornaments. Children wll be planning next week and are encouraged to start looking for fabric at home. The designs are flexible and we suggest that children try to upcycle rather than buy fabric - we've found old, patterned clothes in light weight fabric works well and the pieces do not need to be large. If anyone has old tights or leftover wadding at home please bring it in to share!
