This week in maths we have been multiplying and dividing fractions.

In English, we have been working hard writing our refugee stories focussing on description, speech and creatingan exciting atmosphere.

We wil be starting sewing practice on the 10th December to give us time to perfect our stitching before our Super Sewing Wednesday! (19th December) We are creating a stuffed Christmas tree decoration and so the children will need to bring in a sewing needle, thread and scrap materials (to practise on) in a tupperware box . You  may also want to gather the materials (fabric, buttons, stuffing, ribbon) they will want to use for their final design. Recycling and reusing old material is encouraged. We would be very grateful for any help on Super Sewing Wednesday. No great experience is needed only the ability to thread a needle!

Over the holidays the children are being encouraged to carry out some research on how WW2 affected their own families. We will be creating a mini-museum in each class and would welcome photographs, artefacts and memories. We would also love to have visitors who have personal recollections of the war as this always brings the topic alive for children.
