It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...but lessons will carry on regardless! There may be tinsel and paper chains adorning our classrooms, now that the festive period has hit us, but we still have a LOT of fantastic learning to cram in before we finish for the holidays.
Literacy-We are writing our letters to Jotun Bjornsson this week, using as much flattery, exaggeration and powerful vocabulary as we can to persuade him that WE are the right Vikings for the job.
Spelling- Our spelling pattern this week is words ending in -ibly and -ably. Ask to check you children's log book-they should all have something to practise in there!
Maths-This week we are starting to look at area and perimeter, using column addition as well as our knowledge of shape to help us figure out any missing sides.
Friday Afternoon Cathedral Trip
On Friday this week, we are very excited to be joining several other Bristol schools at the Cathedral for a winter celebration, singing our hearts out to lots of seasonal songs that we have been practising in our music lessons with Mr Coulson. As we will be leaving quite early on Friday, children have been asked to PLEASE make sure they bring in a packed lunch, as we will be eating in our classrooms before we head off. We ask that they also have a small snack to eat when they get back from the trip, as it will have been several hours since they ate their lunch, and will no doubt be ravenous by 3.00.
