Year 4

Week beginning 11th November

We are excited to begin our Roman assembly rehearsals this week and roles have been assigned for all those children requesting a speaking part. Those not wishing to speak will still play an integral part in acting and singing. We would be grateful if you can supply the costumes as soon as possible, in a named bag. There is no expectation to go and buy anything new for these, and as listed below, the costumes are simple and should be easy to source from things you already have at home. If there are any problems please inform your class teacher who will be able to help. Similarly, if you have spare costumes you are happy to lend the class, please let us know.

Roman Soldier

Black shorts, red top (Eagles T-shirt’s are fine), sword or helmet if desired, any armour can be made from cardboard. All children have shields they have made, which are in school already.

Slaves

A long T-shirt or shorts, with shirt and a belt. Dull colours are best and ripped clothing is encouraged!

Roman citizens/Facts

A yoga made from a bed sheet. You can accessorise like a Roman with belts, head dresses etc.

We thank you for your support and help in costuming and helping children learn their lines.

We are looking forward to our trip to Caerleon on Tuesday December 10th. Please access school Gateway for payments and offers of help.

In addition, the school canteen will be offering a Roman themed lunch on Monday 9th December.

In maths this week, we are starting to multiply and divide by 10 and 100. Our multiplication focus is 12.
