Science and musical fun!

Learning about the water cycle through music composition helped us make great links between Science and Music.

Classes 7 and 8 learnt about the water cycle this week and then composed a piece of music to represent the journey a drop of water takes through the never ending cycle.  We used elements of music such as dynamics, timbre and tempo to represent the different stages of the cycle (e.g. evaporation and condensation). The quality of the compositions was very high and there was a huge amount of learning outside of Music and Science that took place too including creativity, developing leadershipship qualities (conducting!) and working together as a team (resilience and learning relationships were required here!).  Mrs Sormani can't wait to work with Class 9 in a few weeks.
