A great week of settling

Term 1 Week 2

Wow! What a week. We have had such a wonderful start to the world of being in Year 3 and the teachers are all so impressed with how quickly they have settled in. We have been learning lots about each other and have really enjoyed seeing all your wonderful 'Brilliant Bristol' posters.

We wanted to emphasise again how importantly we view reading out loud in Year 3. Children are supposed to read aloud, to an adult, three times a week. Reading records have now been given out with any instructions stuck in to the front so we would really appreciate seeing those reads being recorded from now onwards. Remember, it's a great way to earn a few team points too.

Each class in HJS elects school council members. Any children who would like to be considered need to have a poster and an optional short presentation by Monday 16th to explain why they would make a great school council representative. The school council meet regularly with Mr Barber or Mr Parr to provide a pupil voice as part of the schools development.
