Henleaze Junior School took part in the Playhouse Festival - a collaboration with Bristol Old Vic Theatre. Miss Jones worked with children from Years 3, 4 and 5 in an after school drama club on a new play written especially for the festival. With support from the Old Vic and post-16 students from Cotham School, our cast devised a piece of stunning theatre. The story tackled current issues of immigration, nationalism and discrimination through the well known traditional tale of Jack the Giant Killer. It was powerful, humorous and moving.
